Admissions Guidelines
1. Enrollment in Hudson Valley Christian Academy is based upon satisfactory completion of the following requirements for the parents and child. The School Board or its representative(s) evaluates enrollment requests, and recommends acceptance or rejection. The decision of the School Board as it relates to enrollment is final and binding. Continued enrollment is contingent on parents and students abiding by the terms and conditions contained in the Academy Handbook.
2. Registration fee. A nonrefundable fee per child is required for each School Year.
3. Health Records. New students must have a physical examination by a licensed physician and must show proof of required immunizations before starting classes.
4. Age Requirements. Kindergarten children must be five years of age on or before December 1st. A valid birth certificate is required for verification.
5. Students of any denomination, race, color or national or ethnic origin are eligible for admission consideration.
6. Students must exhibit the ability to do grade level work and to respond appropriately to correction and moral teaching. Children with academic, emotional or disciplinary problems cannot be accepted at this time.
7. Complete academic and medical records as well as entrance and placement tests, if applicable, are required of all applicants.
8. A parent interview with the School Board or its representative(s) is required, and parents agree to uphold the Objectives, Rules and Purposes of the Academy by completing and signing the application for admission.
9. Available student openings for each year will be filled with first consideration being given to children enrolled in the previous school year, then to children whose families already have a child enrolled, then to children of new families.
10. All new students will be accepted on a trial basis in accordance with Requirement (5) above. Discipline standards and dress codes will be strictly enforced.
11. Admission decision for each child will be mailed to parents prior to the start of the School Year, and transfer students meeting the requirements above may be admitted during the school year.
